Inventory Control Specialist

Commodity Buyer – Grain and Feed Ingredients

Position Objective:

To negotiate, purchase and handle logistics of all commodity and grain ingredients for the feed division in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.

Position Responsibilities:

Grain and Commodity Origination

  • Procure all bulk ingredients necessary to service full-line feed mill
  • Coordinate truck and rail transportation for incoming ingredients
  • Negotiate best price and terms with suppliers on ingredients and freight
  • Monitor daily inventories to coordinate timely delivery of incoming feedstuffs
  • Analyze local, domestic, and global industry information to make recommendations and purchasing decisions that maximize profitability and meet operational goals and objectives

Recordkeeping

  • Maintain daily grain positions
  • Maintain grain related records including contracts and settlements
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of grain industry requirements

Position Requirements:

  • 4 year degree in Agriculture, Business or equivalent experience
  • 5 Years of experience in purchasing, trading, or merchandising
  • Working knowledge of commodity futures, options, and basis
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Computer skills with knowledge of spreadsheets required
  • Valid divers license and clean driving record
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist and lift/move objects up to 50lbs

As an employee of Producers Cooperative Association, you will actively contribute to maintaining business relationships through delivery of our products and services. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner while delivering feed orders
  • Operate tractors, bulk trailers, and bobtails to delivery feed products.
  • Ensure that orders are correct and complete and are unloaded in the proper locations
  • Ensure trucks, trailers and loading areas are kept clean and in working order
  • Communicate any issues or needs to your supervisor
  • Visually inspect tractor and trailer every day prior to starting a shift for safety and general maintenance issues
  • Adhering to company personal and safety standards

CDL Driver Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a related field, preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication skills and legible handwriting
  • Able to follow directions
  • Able to handle climbing up and down ladders regularly
  • Have experience with general farm and ranch practices and/or mechanical skills
  • Able to work alone without constant supervision

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 21 years old or older
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug testing

Warehouse & Fenceyard Associate - Hillsboro, TX

Company Highlights:
Producers Cooperative, a multi-location cooperative in Central Texas, is looking for Warehouse/Yard Associates to assist customers with their agriculture needs. Producers Cooperative has been in business for over 70 years and is expanding to meet the needs of its owners; the farmers and ranchers of the Brazos Valley and now the Hillsboro area.

Position Objective: Provide customers with service in all aspects of agriculture.

Position Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of customer service in the warehouse/yard – Assist customers over the phone, deliver feed to the customer’s vehicle efficiently and with a high degree of accuracy, create and maintain an open dialogue with customers to meet customer service needs, maintain the rotation of feed products to maintain a first-in-first-out program, communicate customer service issues to next line supervisors, maintain personal and facility cleanliness and organization, perform inventories, perform daily checks of equipment used, any other duties described by supervisor.

Position Requirements: High School Diploma. Ability to be on your feet for long durations of the day and safely move 50 lbs. from the ground to waist height. Ability to problem-solve. Able to work alone without constant supervision. Understand and demonstrate outstanding customer service.

Job Summary

We are looking for an Inventory Specialist who is highly organized and motivated to maintain accurate inventory and delve into discrepancies. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating regular inventory audits, approving inventory adjustments, and analyzing financial data related to inventory.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage and maintain inventory levels to ensure accuracy and availability of products.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures for all four Bryan divisions as well as the Hillsboro and Heidenheimer locations.
  • Utilize retail management systems to track and monitor inventory movements, analyze data, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Generate and evaluate reports on inventory performance.
  • Review inventory processes including procurement, manufacturing, and inventory transfers, to ensure best practices and minimize errors.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a retail or warehouse setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook, Excel and Access).
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
